Iran Slams Saudi Minister’s Anti-Iran Claims

  •  Bahram Qassemi was reacting to comments by Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir who accused Tehran on Wednesday of “supplying weapons to Houthis” in Yemen and “destabilizing Arab countries”. “Saudi authorities are bogged down in a bloody quagmire of terrorism and massacre of innocent women and children in Yemen, Syria and Iraq as a result of their egregious strategic errors”, Qassemi said on Thursday. He urged the Saudis to reconsider their approaches toward the region instead of desperate cries and repeated bogus claims. The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman went on to add that notwithstanding Saudi officials’ attempts to cover up the kingdom’s crimes, the world is well aware today that Riyadh is using its petrodollars to kill children in Yemen and that it is the source of incitements in the region. The Saudi foreign minister’s allegations of Iran’s involvement in Yemen come at a time when Yemen’s defenseless people are under massive attacks by a coalition le,iran slams saudi-led yemen campaign, iran slams the saudi-led intervention ...ادامه مطلب

  • Hundreds of Daesh Hostages Freed in Northern Syria

  • A source from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which pushed Daesh out of the city of Manbij this week, told AFP on Saturday that some of the civilians were able to escape while "others were freed". The SDF, an Arab-Kurdish alliance, launched an assault in May on Manbij, on a key supply route of the terrorists between the Turkish border and Raqqa. The Daesh terrorists seized around 2,000 civilians as they fled Manbij on Friday, using them as protection against air strikes en route to town of Jarabulus, on the Turkish-Syrian border. "Among the civilians taken by ISIL there were people used as human shields but also many who chose voluntarily to leave the town due to fear of reprisals" by the SDF, Head of the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Rami Abdel Rahman said. The terrorists, who have suffered a string of losses in Syria and Iraq, have often staged mass abductions when they come under pressure to relinquish territory they hold. ISIL has also booby-trapped cars and car, ...ادامه مطلب

  • Turkey Proposes Conducting Joint Operations with Russia against Daesh

  • "We will discuss all the details. We have always called on Russia to carry out anti-Daesh (ISIL) operations together," Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said in a live interview with the private NTV television, adding that the proposal was still "on the table", Middle East Eye reported. The Turkish offer comes after a months-long diplomatic dispute between Moscow and Ankara following the downing of a Russian fighter jet by Turkish forces in Syria last November. Reports of the initiative emerged as Russian warplanes carried out airstrikes around Raqa, demolishing a chemical weapons factory in the city's northweste outskirts. The Russian defense ministry said the raids also destroyed a weapons storage facility and a training camp for Daesh terrorists to the north and southeast. The ministry said Daesh had suffered "significant material damages" in the strikes and that "a large number of fighters have been killed." Let's block ads! بخوانید, ...ادامه مطلب

  • Taliban Not to Let Daesh Get Foothold in Afghanistan: Spokesman

  • In an interview with the Tasnim News Agency, Zabihullah Mujahid expressed the Taliban’s support for the Afghan nation in the battle against foreign occupation and the presence of Daesh. The “Islamic Emirate” has launched a campaign against occupation across Afghanistan, Mujahid said, stressing that the Taliban is aware of the threat of Daesh and “in cooperation with the nation, has prevented the terrorist group from gaining a foothold in Afghanistan.” The presence of Daesh forces in Afghanistan is limited to a small area in the east and they are living in a dire situation near the border, the spokesman said, adding that most of their members are non-Afghans and “have nothing to do with the Afghan people.” No Daesh fighters are present in other areas of Afghanistan, and the Taliban will not allow such presence, he added. Mujahid also took a swipe at the Kabul govement and the US for using Daesh as an excuse to overplay problems in Afghanistan in order to make new ways for continued occupation and horror. As regards possible changes in Afghanistan’s National Unity govement, the Taliban spokesman said appointment of Afghan officials is within the purview of Americans, which is why such changes are not going to solve anything. The Kabul administration does not seem like an active govement, as all political, security and even economic affairs are under the control of foreigners and are being handled by their special military forces and advisers, he deplored. Asked about the recent rise in the Taliban’s armed operations in Afghanistan, Mujahid said heightened actions in weste and northe region of the country signify that the Afghan nation is resolved to tackle occupation. “The more the Americans insist on continuing the occupation Afghanistan, the more the nation will be mobilized against them and enhance cooperation with the Islamic Emirate fighters,” he added. In early July, new Taliban leader Maulawi Haibatullah Akhundzada called on the US to end its occupation of Afgh, ...ادامه مطلب

  • Daesh Captures up to 3,000 Fleeing Iraqis: UNHCR

  • The report followed a statement Thursday from the Iraqi Observatory for Human rights, which said about 1,900 civilians had been captured by an estimated 100-120 Daesh terrorists, who were using people as shields against attacks by Iraqi Security Forces. Tens of civilians had been executed, and six but. "UNHCR has received reports that Daesh captured on Aug. 4 up to 3,000 IDPs (inteally displaced people) from villages in Hawiga District in Kirkuk Goveorate trying to flee to Kirkuk city. Reportedly, 12 of the IDPs have been killed in captivity," the UNHCR report said. Last month the UN appealed for $284 million to prepare aid for an assault on Mosul, as well as up to $1.8 billion to deal with the aftermath. It has so far received nothing in response, according to the UN Financial Tracking Service. UNHCR has begun building a site northeast of Mosul for 6,000 people and is preparing another northwest of the city for 15,000, a fraction of those expected to need shelter. Tens of thousands who fled from the city of Fallujah have still not retued since its recapture from Daesh in June. Three volunteers helping to clear Fallujah of rubble and explosives died while clearing a house on Aug. 1, UNHCR said. "Although local authorities have suggested that retus to Fallujah could begin in September, the Ministry of Migration and Displacement has stated that it may take another three months before conditions are conducive for large scale retus," it said, Reuters reported.  But Iraqi authorities reported 300,000 displaced people had retued to Ramadi district, UNHCR said. Iraqi forces declared victory over the terror group in Ramadi, the capital of Anbar province, in December, but later called a halt to retus after dozens of civilians were killed by mines. • It said on its Facebook page that a series of airstrikes near Arish, the largest town on the Sinai Peninsula, had also killed 45 other Daesh terrorists. There was no immediate confirmation from Sinai Province, Daesh’s offshoot in the peninsula that borders Israel, the Gaza Strip and the Suez Canal. “This successful operation confirms the pledges of the armed forces to avenge their martyrs and ... pursue all the terrorist elements and leaders wherever they are found until Egypt and its great people enjoy security and stability,” the military said, AFP reported. A posting on the Facebook page of the Egyptian military’s chief spokesman, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Samir, said Ansari was killed in an operation south of the coastal city of Arish. It said the operation was carried out by counterterrorism forces backed by warplanes and guided by “accurate intelligence.” Hundreds of soldiers and policemen have been killed by an insurgency since mid-2013, when Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi ousted Mohammad Mursi. Most of the violence has taken place in northe Sinai, a Daesh base. The military has conducted several campaigns to crush insurgents and cut off their arms supplies, demolishing border villages and tunnels it said were used to smuggle arms and fighters from the Gaza Strip. • Daesh Executes 24 Civilians after Seizing Village in Syria: Activists

  • The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said Daesh executed 24 civilians "in the last 24 hours" after taking Buyir from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), a coalition of Kurdish and Arab fighters, AFP reported on Friday. The village is located some 10 kilometers (6 miles) northwest of Manbij, a key waypoint between the Turkish border and the Daesh de facto capital of Raqa city. Daesh seized control of several villages in the countryside northwest of Manbij since launching an assault Thursday, according to the Observatory. The SDF, backed by airstrikes from the so-called US-led anti-Daesh coalition, launched an offensive to retake Manbij from Daesh on May 31. The alliance managed to enter the town but have since faced fierce opposition from the terrorists who have fought back with suicide bombers and car bombs. Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), currently controlling parts of it. According to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
