Iran Defeats Qatar in World Cup Qualifier

  • In the match held Thursday evening at the Azadi Stadium in Tehran, Ghoochannejhad, who came off the bench, was on target in the 94th minute and six minutes later Jahanbakhsh extended the lead. Iran controlled much of the opening proceedings, but it was the Qataris who fashioned out the better of the goal scoring opportunities in the first 20 minutes. Qatari Sebastian Soria’s attempt from the tightest of angles did little to trouble Alireza Beiranvand in the goal, who was also equal to Hassan Al Haydos’ effort soon after. Iranians slowly tued their dominance of possession into attempts on goal and Ashkan Dejagah should have done better with his effort from outside the area rather than dragging his low shot well wide of the target. The game tued increasingly disjointed during the second half, with Iranian defender Jalal Hosseini going close to opening the scoring 17 minutes from time when he met Andranik Teymourian’s coer with a header that went just wide of Lacomte’s goal.,iran vs qatar world cup qualifiers ...ادامه مطلب

  • "It's (Saudi Arabia's) position that rejects the candidacy of [Change and Reform bloc leader MP] Michel Aoun, and worsened the inteal crisis that we're today experiencing through the Cabinet," Qaouk said during a memorial for a Hezbollah fighter in the Lebanese town of Tayr Filsey in the southe district of Tyre (Sour). He attributed the absence of a president in Lebanon to Saudi Arabia's rejection of Aoun, a position which he said has negatively impacted all state institutions. "As long as the Future Movement is walking behind the Saudi veto, Lebanon will not be stable," Qaouk added, the Daily Star reported. He noted that no faction can be excluded. "Hezbollah advised the Future Movement to salvage the country and change their negative position against Aoun," he continued. • Hezbollah Will Defeat Israel in Any New War: Nasrallah

  • Speaking in an exclusive interview with al-Manar late on Friday, Nasrallah said he is “confident” that Hezbollah “would emerge victorious from any new war with Israel.” “After the (2006) war, I visited the Bekaa Valley and southe Lebanon. They (Israelis) say their achievement is that they forced me to hide in a bunker. That’s not true; I’ve met with many people away from the spotlight. I live and get around in a natural way. I do not live in a bunker,” the Hezbollah chief said, Press TV reported. He said the missiles that Hezbollah fired against Israel during the 2006 war came from the Syrian military industry, and they were not manufactured in Iran. “The war was aimed at eliminating the resistance in Lebanon, Syria and Palestine, and eventually isolating Iran. The demonstration was held in support of Palestinian detainees who are refusing food at Israeli jails, among them Bilal Kayed, who has been on hunger strike for 66 days to protest his administrative detention. The 35-year-old Kayed, a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), was arrested in 2002 and spent 14 and a half years in Israeli jails. • Trump Presidency Will Be A ‘Real Opportunity’ for White Nationalists, Says Nazi Leader

  • The effort to plant the seeds of white nationalism in the political mainstream, where they might blossom into pro-white political coalitions that appeal to a broader swath of white voters, will not be easy, according to the chairman of the American Nazi Party. But Rocky Suhayda thinks there is one political figure who presents a “real opportunity” to lessen the load. Who is it? Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president. “Now, if Trump does win, okay, it’s going to be a real opportunity for people like white nationalists, acting intelligently to build upon that, and to go and start — you know how you have the black political caucus and what not in Congress and everything — to start building on something like that,” Mr Suhayda declared on his radio program last month, the Independent reported on Monday. “It doesn’t have to be anti-, like the movement’s been for decades, so much as it has to be pro-white,” he added. “You know what I’m saying? It’s kind of hard to go and call us bigots if we don’t go around and act like a bigot. That’s what the movement should contemplate. All right.” Audio from the radio program was posted by BuzzFeed’s Andrew Kaczynski, who noted that Suhayda has in the past avoided making statements about Mr. Trump out of conce that he might harm the businessman’s candidacy. Yet, Mr. Kaczynski reported, in an American Nazi Party report from September, the chairman argued that Mr. Trump’s rhetoric revealed the secret popularity of the party’s messages. “We have a wonderful OPPORTUNITY here folks, that may never come again, at the RIGHT time,” Mr. Suhayda wrote, according to BuzzFeed. “Donald Trump’s campaign statements, if nothing else, have SHOWN that ‘our views’ are NOT so ‘unpopular’ as the Political Correctness crowd have told everyone they are!”Mr. Suhayda is far from the first avowed white supremacist to publicize his support and enthusiasm for Trump. • Israel Forces Injure 18 Palestinians during West Bank Clashes

  • The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said 18 people were wounded during clashes in the villages of Beta and Burin southeast of Nablus late on Saturday. One of the victims is in critical condition. Eyewitnesses, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Israeli military jeeps rolled into the village of Beta amid escort by infantry units, and were deployed in several streets. Violence broke out when dozens of Palestinian youths threw stones at Israeli troops, who fired stun grenades and tear gas to disperse the crowd, Press TV reported on Sunday. A number of local residents suffered teargas inhalation during the skirmishes in several neighborhoods of the village. Local sources said Israeli forces arrested a young Palestinian man, identified as Ramiz Iyad Duweikat, before withdrawing from the areas. Elsewhere in the village of Burin, Israeli soldiers fired shots and used tear gas against Palestinians. One of the tear gas canisters reportedly fell into the family home of Emad Asaus, leaving the members, including a pregnant woman, in recurrent coughs and wheezing. Israeli military sources reported that an Israeli soldier was moderately wounded during the mayhem in Burin. The occupied territories have witnessed a fresh bout of tensions ever since Israeli forces introduced restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshipers into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East al-Quds (East Jerusalem) in August 2015. Palestinians say Tel Aviv seeks to change the status quo of the site, which is Islam’s third holiest site after Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and Masjid al-Nabawi in Medina in Saudi Arabia. It is also highly respected by Jews and Christians. More than 230 Palestinians, including 45 children, have been killed and some 12,000 others wounded at the hands of Israeli forces since last October, when the occupied territories saw a surge in tensions between the two sides. • US, Israel Plotting to Open New Fronts in Southern Syria: Iranian MP

  • “The Zionist regime (of Israel), the US and some of their allies have a joint project to support armed movements with the aim of opening new fronts in southe Syria,” Boroujerdi said in an interview with the Tasnim News Agency. Some barracks and military bases have been built in Jordan to train armed terrorist groups with the support of the US, he noted. The Iranian parliamentarian went on to say that such measures are part of preparations for the dispatch of the terrorists to the new fronts in southe Syria. There is a strong possibility of an armed movement in the southe fronts, Boroujerdi said, adding that however, the movement will definitely achieve no success there. Syria has been gripped by civil war since March 2011 with various terrorist groups, including Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), currently controlling parts of it. According to a report by the Syrian Center for Policy Research, the conflict has claimed the lives of over 470,000 people, injured 1.9 million others, and displaced nearly half of the country’s pre-war population of about 23 million within or beyond its borders.
