He urged the Saudis to reconsider their approaches toward the region instead of desperate cries and repeated bogus claims. The Iranian foreign ministry spokesman went on to add that notwithstanding Saudi officials’ attempts to cover up the kingdom’s crimes, the world is well aware today that Riyadh is using its petrodollars to kill children in Yemen and that it is the source of incitements in the region. • Putin Encourages Iran to Join Russia-Led Eurasian Alliance

  • “Iran is Russia’s longtime partner. We believe that bilateral relations will benefit from the reduction of tensions around Iran following the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear program,” Putin said in a major interview with Azerbaijani state news agency Azertac released on Friday. He added that Iranian leaders shared his approach, RT reported. In some branches of the economy Russian-Iranian cooperation has already become strategic, Putin noted. This conceed first of all the nuclear energy sphere, with Russia completing and servicing the Bushehr power plant in Iran and reaching agreements on building eight more nuclear power units. Overall the two states have managed to increase bilateral trade by 70 percent and bring it to $855 million in the first five months of 2016. The Russian leader also welcomed the possible creation of a free trade zone between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union – the bloc that currently unites Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. He said that work has already started to research the possibility of such a move, adding that Russia would continue to support Iran's pursuit of full membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization – the Eurasian military-political bloc comprised of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. On August 8, Putin is expected to visit Baku and take part in the first-ever trilateral summit of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran. In November last year, Russia and Iran agreed to develop economic ties, with Moscow promising to provide a $5 billion state loan to Tehran for the promotion of industrial cooperation. • Ukraine Ambassador Pledges Push to Lift Visa Requirements for Iranians

  • In an exclusive interview with the Tasnim News Agency, Mr. Buldiliak expressed the confidence that Iran and Ukraine can manage to end visa requirements for bilateral visits. He also highlighted the upward trend in economic cooperation between Tehran and Kiev, referring to a multi-billion-euro agreement the two countries have recently signed in the railroad industry. What follows is the full text of the interview: Tasnim: Some time ago, Ukraine’s foreign minister paid a visit to Iran and met with Iranian officials. Since then, how much progress has been made in the bilateral relations? In what specific areas has the progress been made? How high is the volume of bilateral trade and is it close to the one-billion-dollar target set last year? Ukrainian ambassador: The visit of the minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine Mr. Pavlo Klimkin to Iran was aimed, first of all, to start the political dialogue between Ukraine and Iran anew. It is no secret that a visit of such level has not been held for the last 13 years. And it is also important to mention that no meeting of the intergovemental commission on economy and trade has been held in 12 years, until this year. Now, while our bilateral relations have a huge potential for development, there are a few obstacles in our way. The first and foremost need is to speed up the political dialogue. During the meeting between Mr. Klimkin and the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Mr. Hassan Rouhani said that no third country can influence the cooperation between Ukraine and Iran. We welcome this attitude – no intermediary is needed for our dialogue. In this regard, the negotiations on the level of Vice-MFAs is planned in the nearest future – in August this year. Second, tremendous effort has been made on the way to simplify the procedure of visa issuance. Next month the visit of the director of the counselor department of the Ukrainian MFA to Iran is planned. I hope that during the “counselor consultations” with his Ira, ...ادامه مطلب

Eight militants were "neutralized" in the area after an air force operation, the army added. Fighting between the military and the PKK has continued since the July 15 failed putsch in which a rogue group within the armed forces tried to oust President Recep Tayyip Erdogan from power. Turkey has blamed the coup on followers of the US-based opposition leader Fethullah Gulen and officials have made no attempt to link the plot with the PKK. Hundreds of Turkish security force members have been killed by the PKK in attacks since the collapse of a two-year cease-fire in July last year. In response, the govement has launched military operations against the Kurdish group, killing thousands of militants. Activists say innocent civilians have also been killed in the military offensives. Over 40,000 people have been killed since the PKK – proscribed as a terrorist group by Turkey, the European Union and the United States – first took up arms in 1984.
