Two joualists from a local television station alongside lawmakers were among those injured in the deadly explosion at SYL Hotel near the presidential palace in the Somali capital. Mahad Farah, a police officer at the scene, told Xinhua that the explosion happened a few meters from the SYL Hotel entrance when security guards fired at the car which they suspected was about to launch an attack. "We have established the death of seven people and several others injured. The security guards fired at the car then it immediately exploded," said Farah. The hotel, which came under similar attack in February this year, is frequently by senior govement officials and diplomats. The explosion ripped apart a section of the hotel. Speaking in a meeting with visiting secretary general of Hezbollah al-Nujaba, a major Iraqi Shiite resistance movement, Sheikh Akram al-Kaabi, in Tehran on Sunday, Boroujerdi highlighted Washington’s plots to sow discord in Iraq and lead the Arab country into breaking up, saying the US and Saudi Arabia have tried to show the ongoing war in Iraq as religious conflicts. The attack occurred in the moing after two mortar rounds fired by militants struck near the provincial govement office building where a celebration was underway. "Two children and a man were killed and 49 others wounded by the mortar shelling in Asadabad this moing," provincial Goveor Wahidullah Kalimzai told Xinhua. Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency on Tuesday, Zahra Roknabadi said Saudi Arabia’s move to sever relations with Iran should not get in the way of pursuing the Mina tragedy case. At least 7,500 pilgrims died in a crush in Mina, near Mecca, on September 24, 2015, when performing religious rites. 464 Iranian pilgrims, including Roknabadi, were among those killed in the disaster. Medics said nine civilians were killed in a strike on a potato chip factory in the Nahda district of the capital. The Saudi-led coalition is backing forces loyal to the fugitive former govement of Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi. The coalition also forced the suspension of flights into Sana’a Inteational Airport for 72 hours from late Monday, an airport official and aid agency sources said, Reuters reported. A spokesman for the coalition did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment on the airstrikes or the closure of the airport. In a joint statement at the end of a historic summit in Baku on Monday evening, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Azeri and Russian counterparts, Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Putin, pledged to promote trilateral cooperation in various areas ranging from the fight against terrorism and arms smuggling to transportation and banking ties.  The three sides pledge to continue all-out cooperation in strengthening ties and promote political dialogue at all levels and on all issues of mutual interest, the statement read. The 9N-AKA Fishtail Air helicopter carrying six locals to Kathmandu lost contact with air traffic control about 30 minutes after taking off from the weste district of Gorkha. Rescuers have reached the crash site north of the capital where they will retrieve the bodies. “Iran is Russia’s longtime partner. Investigators say those arrested include the deputy chairman of the opposition Heritage party and the leader of the civic movement Rise Up, Armenia, the Associated Press reported. Armed men seized the police compound on July 17, demanding freedom for an opposition group leader who was arrested in June. Ukrainian ambassador: The visit of the minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine Mr. Pavlo Klimkin to Iran was aimed, first of all, to start the political dialogue between Ukraine and Iran anew. It is no secret that a visit of such level has not been held for the last 13 years. And it is also important to mention that no meeting of the intergovemental commission on economy and trade has been held in 12 years, until this year. Now, while our bilateral relations have a huge potential for development, there are a few obstacles in our way. The first and foremost need is to speed up the political dialogue. The soldiers were performing a security check when they were attacked by militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in Hakkari province on the road near Cukurca late Friday. The army said in a statement another 25 soldiers were injured during the clashes in the area close to northe Iraq. Previous reports late Friday had said that five soldiers were killed, AFP reported. Eight militants were "neutralized" in the area after an air force operation, the army added. Fighting between the military and the PKK has continued since the July 15 failed putsch in which a rogue group within the armed forces tried to oust President Recep Tayyip Erdogan from power. Turkey has blamed the coup on followers of the US-based opposition leader Fethullah Gulen and officials have made no attempt to link the plot with the PKK. Hundreds of Turkish security force members have been killed by the PKK in attacks since the collapse of a two-year cease-fire in July last year. In response, the govement has launched military operations against the Kurdish group, killing thousands of militants. Activists say innocent civilians have also been killed in the military offensives.
