"The euro-based settlement system for South Korea-Iran trade will start on Aug. 29," Yoo Il-ho said as cited by Yonhap news agency recently. "The opening of the system will help further promote bilateral trade and investment (between the two countries),” he added. The finance minister further said the country’s KEB Hana Bank, Shinhan Bank and Woori Bank will handle the euro-based payment system, which uses the euro as a medium of trade, which is widely preferred by Iranian companies. Indian military officials say the plan is to equip regiments deployed on the China border with the BrahMos missile, made by an Indo-Russian joint venture, as part of ongoing efforts to build up military and civilian infrastructure capabilities there, Reuters reported. According to the Khaama Press news agency, the incident took place late on Monday in the Bagram district, Sputnik News reported Tuesday. Afghan security officials have reportedly claimed that the blast was caused by a suicide bomber detonating a vehicle-boe improvised explosive device (VBIED), and the NATO-led Resolute Support mission has said that an IED was the cause of the explosion. Pyongyang vowed in 2013 to restart all nuclear facilities, including the main reactor at its Yongbyon site that had been shut down and has been at the heart of its weapons program. It said last year that Yongbyon was operating and that it was working to improve the "quality and quantity" of its nuclear weapons. A source from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which pushed Daesh out of the city of Manbij this week, told AFP on Saturday that some of the civilians were able to escape while "others were freed". French Interior Minister Baard Cazeneuve told reporters on Wednesday that 1,800 firefighters were battling multiple fires. Four firefighters were injured, three of them seriously, by one of the fires, in the nearby Herault region, he said. The fires started in Rognac, north of Vitrolles, authorities said, adding that the cause remained unknown, NBC News reported. Two people were reported injured, one of them seriously, as the fire in Vitrolles moved toward Marseille, about 15 miles south. Firefighters said that 20 to 25 homes were bued. The evacuations Wednesday represent almost 15 percent of the population of Vitrolles. Marseille Provence Airport was closed for a period, but it had reopened Wednesday night. South Korea’s Ministry of Environment said in a recent statement that it has sent six public and private sector officials to meet with their Iranian counterparts and discuss opportunities for enhancement of trade ties between the two nations, Yonhap news agency reported.  The delegation is scheduled to hold talks with Head of Iran's Environmental Protection Organization (IEPO) Masoumeh Ebtekar during the visit, it added. The strategic aircraft were to be deployed on Saturday on the US island of Guam, the US military said last month, describing the operation as a routine rotation with the B-52 bomber. Efforts to finalize talks with Iranian counterparts and banks are underway, Yoo Il-ho told reporters on Wednesday. "It's probably going to happen by year-end," he added as quoted by Reuters. Yoo said he expects Korean companies to carry out business with Iran in euros within this year. According to an earlier report, South Korean companies will be able to trade with their Iranian counterparts in the euro currency instead of the local won from as early as September. A suspected Rodong missile was fired on Wednesday from the North's weste Hwanghae province, the govements said. Japan's defense ministry said the missile landed inside Japan's exclusive economic zone, a  200-nautical-mile offshore area where Tokyo has sovereign rights for exploring and exploiting resources. "It imposes a serious threat to Japan's security and it is unforgivable act of violence toward Japan's security," Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said, according to Al Jazeera. The US Strategic Command said North Korea had fired two presumed Rodong missiles simultaneously. A statement said initial indications indicated one of the missiles exploded immediately after launch, while a second was tracked over North Korea and into the Sea of Japan. The launch came after North Korea threatened "physical action" in response to a planned deployment of a US anti-missile system in South Korea, and just weeks before the start of annual joint South Korea-US military exercises, which Pyongyang says are rehearsals for a possible invasion. Seoul and Washington have said the system, Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense, or THAAD, is needed to better cope with what they call North Korea's increasing military threats. North Korea has called it a provocation that it says is only aimed at bolstering US military hegemony in the region. The United States condemned what it called a clear violation of UN Security Council resolutions prohibiting North Korea's use of ballistic missile technology.
