In a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Tehran on Sunday, visiting Omani Interior Minister Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi said the bilateral relations have reached a “premium level.” He also voiced the sultanate of Oman’s readiness to enhance relations with Iran in all fields. Turkish tanks crossed into Syria Saturday, allegedly to support Syrian rebels against the Daesh (ISIL) terror group, Anadolu news agency said. Turkey launched a cross-border operation on Aug. 24 along with Free Syrian Army units in what Ankara claims is an attempt to clear the village of Jarablus of Daesh militants. Since then, rebels have been seizing villages along the Turkish border near Jarablus and the weste Cobanbey district from Daesh. The Izvestia newspaper said citing a source familiar with the recent consultations on Syrian settlement in the Swiss city of Geneva that the United States had sent Russia a package of proposals aimed at coordination between their air forces, Sputnik reported. Izvestia added that Moscow made it clear for Washington that Russian Aerospace Forces were not involved in aerial operation over Aleppo and the United States should be engaged in a dialogue on the issue with Syria itself. Five attackers armed with suicide vests, rifles and grenades have killed 18 people in the Iraqi town of Ain al-Tamer, southwest of Baghdad, local officials say. Local officials at the provincial health directorate confirmed the death toll in the attack, which occurred late on Sunday, and said at least 26 people were also wounded.
